Pay It Forward 2011 & my very first BLOG AWARD!

First off, does anyone else love coffee as much as I do?? Because I love it...a LOT! It makes every morning like 20 times better! As if this morning could get any better....

This morning I woke up to an email from the amazing family I have chosen to receive a FREE family photoshoot from Endeavor Photography. I have been taking nominations for about a 2 months now and I was just so touched by the email I received about the Bocchini Family that I had to choose them. This was originally going to be a holiday family session but due to medical reasons and BIRTHDAYS:) we will have to wait until the new year, which just means I have more time to think of super cute ideas! Can't wait to meet this awesome family and capture their happiness in photographs!

On another VERY exciting note, I was honored with a Blog Award from Love, Lindsey! Lindsey was awarded the Leibster Blog Award because her blog is awesome! She actually designed my blog header and is a huge inspiration to me! Check out her blog, you'll love! Thanks again Linds! xoxo -K

Cry a baby, cry a baby, cry a baby, cryyyy

Anyone seen the movie Cry Baby?? You have to have seen it to get the title, picture me singing it like Allison!
Okay so I know this is my second blog post today but I just get so excited about my new posts and I made sure with a follower (Kristin) and she said it wouldn't be weird for me to post multiple times a day, I'll just be the Crazy Blog Lady, nbd.

Anyways, I wanted to share some of my favorite photos EVER! Not because I like it when babies cry but because they look so stinking cute! I get these photos all the time. It's weird but towards the end of my shoots (and sometimes the beginning and middle too) the babies tend to get cranky. Understandable I guess after having some stranger move them, put them in awkward positions, and snap pictures of them for 2 hours. A little sad, but cute nonetheless! Enjoy. -K

Pinterest idea comes to life!

So I am totally addicted to Pinterest, (if you don't have an account please comment so I can send you an invite). I can and do sit on there for hours looking for crafty things to make, I also find great ideas for my house which I obviously save on my pinboard for when I'm rich:) ha! I've been seeing a lot of christmas crafts on there lately which is great because it's christmastime and I planned on doing tons of crafts, which it was I did yesterday...all day! This is just one of the many......
I found this frame when my husband and I were cleaning out our garage the other day (not fun), but the frame is perfect! If you have an old frame laying around I suggest to use that so you don't have to buy a new one. First I painted and sanded it to make it look rustic. I chose to paint it white but any christmasy color would be great depending on the look you are going for.

Next I chose the ball ornaments I wanted to use. I had these laying around from a pointless Target
trip....$1.00 for a whole tube of them! I also chose the ribbon I wanted to use and then I secured the ribbon
to the frame and attached the ornaments onto the ribbon by lacing the ribbon through the top and then hot glueing the ribbon to itself to secure the ornaments.

Finally I chose the large wire edged ribbon that looked best with my creation and I made a large bow to put at the top....
This is my husbands favorite craft so far! And I did a lot! It was pictured hanging on the door as a wreath on Pinterest but we already have a super cool light up wreath that Kyle picked out and would never part with so it works just as good hanging in the house.

Happy crafting! I'd love to see your photos if you decide to bring a Pinterest idea to life! -K

Christmas is coming!

I am SO excited about Christmas, I can hardly handle it. I have managed to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate my house (#savethanksgiving), but if you've been to Casa Daffern at all since October you've seen that it looks like the North Pole in my studio! I have been frantically shooting holiday photos for the past month and a half and I'd like to share a few of my favorites sans faces. :) -K

Do what you love, love what you do.

I finally found what I was meant to do. I get to do all of the things I love in one day. Make people laugh, play with children, observe happy families and couples, exercise my creative brain, and capture everything on camera! How did I get so lucky?! I hope that whatever is it you are doing in your life is something you LOVE, because if you are doing what you love you will never work a day in your life. -K
