{Brittani & Ryan - The Proposal}

Can I just start out by saying that I am OBSESSED with this proposal. Not only because the bride-to-be has been my best friend since 6th grade but because it's the second cutest most thoughful proposal I've ever seen (Kyle's was #1 hehe)! I give you an A+ RyRy!

Let's start with some background info, here is Brittani's Facebook status the day of the proposal.....keep in mind she had NO idea that day that she would become engaged:

‎13 months of paramedic school, 6 months of fire hiring process, 2 months of fire academy, and 10 months of fire probation later and the hard part is finally over! I'm so proud, excited, and lucky to have a hard-working man, but even more glad I get my boyfriend back!! :)

Needless to say, this day has been a long time coming for these two and I don't know ANY couple who deserves this more than they do. Despite everything they have been through they have never lost site of their future together.

On 2.25.12 Ryan asked Brittani to be his wife....

        {Happy little family...Brittani will be an AMAZING mommy!}

 And I have NO doubt that they will live happily ever after! Let the planning begin! - K

Birthday Borrangoes!

21 years ago today, my best friend was born! I would like to thank his mom and dad for giving him to the world, because he is amazing! Here he is, in all his glory....

We have been through ALOT together and I can't wait to spend the next 21 years with him! To celebrate his birth I made him dinner last night and in my family we have a tradition for birthdays. My dad makes us Birthday Borrangoes and they are the most delicious things you will ever eat.

 I am slightly hesitant in sharing this recipe because I know the next time I go to the store all of the ingredients will be sold out, buttttt I can no longer deprive the world of making their own Birthday Borrangoes.

Ingredients:

  • Hereford canned roast beef
  • diced green chiles {1 small can to every 3 cans of beef}
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • tortillas
  • sour cream
  1. Preheat oven at 375
  2. Open roast beef and squeeze the sauce into a seperate bowl
  3. Break up roast beef in large bowl and mix in chiles & shredded cheese
  4. Put a small amount into a tortilla and wrap like a burrito
  5. Place the borrangoes in a glass pan and rub the tops with butter
  6. Bake until golden brown, prepare the sauce {just add some sour cream to the roast beef sauce and heat} & ENJOY!

              HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETT ROBERT GAINES! XOXO -K

DIY Moss Initial Wreath

If you are as addicted to Pinterest as I am I can GUARANTEE you've seen these super cute moss initial wreaths! Well I wanted one but I most def did not want to spend $20-$50 to let someone else make it for me when I knew full well that I could make it myself and have fun doing it...and then I could teach all of you how to make it too!

Supplies:
  • All purpose moss mat {Joann's, $16 but I had a 40% off coupon}
  • Burlap {Joann's, $9 plus 10% coupon}
  • Cardboard letter {Joann's about $3}
  • Hot glue gun

 To do:

  1. Lay out the moss and cut to the size of the letter
  2. Simply hot glue the moss to the letter  as neatly as mossible possible (that was a legitimate typo but it made me LOL!)
  3. Cut the burlap and create a cute bow at the top of your letter
  4. Add flowers if desired (I had some left from my wedding so I threw them on there (got them from Michaels)

I hope you love it as much as I do! It's perfect for Springtime if you aren't obsessed with egg decorations like some people. I mean, I like Easter eggs, but this is more my style;) -K

Chicken Salad = Bomb.com

Today I had some time to experiment in the kitchen, which doesn't happen often with my crazy schedule. I decided I'd make myself a chicken salad sandwich because they're delicious and I was hungry.

Ingredients:
  1. Canned chicken
  2. Light mayonaise
  3. Cheddar cheese
  4. Celery
  5. Olives
  6. Craisins
 Now I'll let the pictures do the talking....

Sorry about the ghetto pics, no time/energy to edit or watermark. These do the job though. Next time I'll put sprouts on my sandwich! But let me tell youuuu, this one was bomb.com. -K

Love yourself first.

I wasn't really planning on posting today but while I was playing on pinterest I came across some words that I feel like some of my closest family and friends need to hear and really take in, as I'm sure some of you do as well. Plus, who doesn't Love Lucy? -K

{Kaitlyn & Corey}

                Happy 5 year anniversary Kaitlyn & Corey!

And Happy Valentine's Day world! This day makes my heart happy, who doesn't love LOVE?!

This Sunday I got to spend a few hours taking engagement photos for an amazing couple and today just happens to be their 5 year anniversary. They started dating when they were just 15 {2.14.07} and now they are engaged and planning their dream wedding, with the help of pinterest of course.

I have known Kaitlyn since she was 5 years only and best friends with my baby sister in kindergarten and it's a crazy thing to see someone grow up from a sweet little girl into a gorgeous young lady right in front of your eyes. Her handsome fiance Corey is currently in the fire academy and hopes to follow in his father and brother's footsteps and become a firefighter. Kaitlyn and Corey are so in love and so, SO perfect for each other and I can't wait to see what else God has in store for their life together.

I want to share in photos how sweet these two are together and how much fun we had during this shoot...

DIY LOVE Banner

I had an awesome weekend shooting some amazing people this weekend. So busy, but so rewarding. While getting ready for my Sunday shoots {two engagements} I remembered that is was Valentine's weekend so I def needed something Valentine-y. I spent MAYBE 10 minutes making this LOVE banner...

All you need is Scrapbook paper, twine, a sharpie, and a hot glue gun. I simply cut out the triangles, drew the letters as neatly as I could and hot glued them to the twine. SO EASY! I'll probably make one for each season.

Loving the way this little project turned out! Stay posted, this week I will recap my super fun photo shoots from yesterday! -K
